Perhaps, but AAPL failed to allow other boxmakers to use it's OS until it was too late. This quite possibly would have made a big difference for them, as it may have prevented Windows from taking all for itself, and Windows might well have become Apple compatible long ago. So, if not for the mistakes of others, Windows might not be where it is today. Now, Windows based competition to Apple's new internet box is coming out of the woodwork.

Linux may have the potential to badly hurt Microsoft without the DOJ's help. I do feel MSFT got out of line, but I have to doubt antitrust action will or can be helpful in any event.
