6% infection rate in the deer in the states affected. The prions are in the brains and spinal cords. Could you point me to the article or URL that discusses the above? I'd like to read it. Is there any speculation as to the way the deer become infected? Cattle supposedly get it from ingesting ground up infected sheep parts in their feed. -JB
