Dotty,

Richard is on the right track. You have to right click everything. When I started two months back, I lost every workspace because I would click "X" in upper right corner to close the window, the the message box appears and says,
"Do you want to save changes" , and of course I say "yes".

I HAD JUST SAVED A BLANK WORKSPACE

When your new work is completed, do not click upper rt corner 'x'. By doing so you have just erased your work. First go to file-workspace-save as... then name it... and it is saved.

THEN, on menu line, click 'window', then 'close all'.
I can then pull up any other workspace and the new one just created is still there.

It is scary until learned, like so much else.
