SUNW is in the hardware business and MSFT is in the software business. IMO, SUNW can literally give Solaris away and concentrate on JAVA. It is JAVA that will permit them to sell more hardware not Solaris.

Therefore, I think that MSFT is the one that is going to be facing pricing pressure going forward. Between LINUX(s) and Solaris being sold as a price to stem off the MSFT threat ( on the low end only), I see WIN2000 as a billion dollar bust.
