CSFB Analyst Says ATI Tech Chips In Sony Set-Tops By Scott Adams 12/15/1999 Dow Jones News Service (Copyright (c) 1999, Dow Jones & Company, Inc.) TORONTO -(Dow Jones)- ATI Technologies Inc. (ATYT) graphics chips are being used in Sony Corp. (SNE) television set-top boxes on display at a Los Angeles Western Cable Show, said Credit Suisse First Boston analyst Ray Sharma. "It's an ATI chip in the (Sony) exhibit," Sharma said in Toronto, explaining that a member of the CSFB research team confirmed the information. Sharma believes ATI will ship $75 million of graphics chips to Sony over the next three years. He believes ATI will be filling Sony's contract to sell three million set-top boxes to Cablevision Systems Corp. (CVC) as announced in September.
