Uncle Frank: Absolutely not. In the internet appliance sector, MSFT has shrinking not growing presence. Appliance makers are leaving, not joining, MSTF. The Ericsson / MSFT is a week reed to lean on.

Qualcomm is using Palm and Phone.com - not repeat not MSFT.

The only place where the Q and MSFT have a working relationship (the joint venture) has nothing to do with handhelds or internet appliances.

PS The way to look at it is that MSFT is not repeat not in Qualcomm's valuechain - Palm is. And the Q is working closely with 3 Com on the wireless/internet nexus - not MSFT.

As I said earlier, I may be wrong. But think I know a bit about this.
