Harry, so so true. It has been said in any business model that marketing counts for 50%. Besides all the great tech investors here at SI, who has really heard of the K6? Certaintly not your average man or woman on the street.

AMD has some serious work left to do in promoting the K6. Have they even convinced Packard Bell yet?

Right now. People or business's looking for a computer are thinking one thing. Pentium! the only question they have is which one. It was a brilliant marketing move to first use the name Pentium instead of 586 and then to call the next chip Pentium 2.

AMD and Cyrix may get away with stealing the trademark MMX for a while, but they will never use the name Pentium.
