***Correction***<...the cost and functionality of notebook puters has been too high> should read "...the cost for functionality has been too high", as a reason why data and wireless has not gone well together.

But in retrospect, functionality can be too high. Bloatware in notebooks is not ideal. Thin and fast is better. With fast and cheap WWeb downloads, the idea of a network puter might yet get airtime. There will be a balance somewhere between what lives on the Web and what on the WWeb device and I have no idea where the balance will be.

Maybe high-powered notebooks will make bloatware in the device more useful than storing the software in the Web. Remote storage causes delayed access due to the slow speed of photons and data delays due to queuing in the airlink - only so many rats can go through a drain in a minute.

That's why high value rats have to go through the drain first and the cat on the screen needs to have variable $ $ signs in its eyes [so that people don't push 'send' for low value data when the cat's waiting with $8 signs in its eyes to catch the rats].
