Too bad gold is mined by non-tech, non-internut, non-telecomm, non-biotech, non-computer companies. Earnings are all that matters.

Of course, several mining juniors are turning into techies and are experiencing great jumps in share price. Some are even lucky enough to find an economic deposit.

Lots of gold in the ground still to be found. Lots of gold above ground, still to be sold by the CB's. Lots of gold all over the place. Costs to mine what's in the ground coming down, demand very price sensitive,... so expect POG to remain static at best for the near future, even without a nefarious conspiracy.

Forget Fiat currencies. Time to start worrying about electronic credits. Billions floating around now in cyberspace. If Y2K does anything, it will likely multiply them.

Goldbugs have pupated and turned into techieflies, or perhaps just got squished.
