There's an exception to the copywrite laws when material is used for educational purposes (as it is here on SI). As long as no poster claims the work is his own, or charges a fee for posting or providing the work, or extracts portions from the work and incorporates such portions into his or her own work (and claims credit for authorship), then you have no violation. Furthermore, in a discussion forum like SI where the discussions are in written form because of limitations (can't speak) then it is no more a violation to repost the item than it would be to read it to a friend.

Finally, as long as it is individuals and not analysts or other professionals, then I think there is no violation.

One exception to the above would be the posting of a story or article from a site without permission that requires a paid membership, eg. the street.com, that would be a no-no.
