TAMBO GRANDE PROJECT UPDATE - TG-3 RESOURCE MODEL

I could not copy the table included in the announcement, which can be viewed at:

Manhattan Minerals Corp. is pleased to announce the results of resource modeling on the TG-3 copper/zinc/gold/silver deposit at its Tambo Grande Project, located in the Piura region of northern Peru. Resource models for the TG-1 gold and TG-1 sulphide deposits were described in a news release of November 15, 1999. Combining TG-1 and TG-3, the massive sulphide resource total on the Project to date exceeds 170 million tonnes of copper/zinc/gold/silver mineralization. In addition, the TG-1 gold deposit hosts more than 1.3 million ounces of gold and 12 million ounces of silver. Manhattan presently has five drills working on the property, exploring the TG-1 gold deposit to the north and other anomalies, as well as completing infill drilling on the gold and sulphides for reserve definition.

TG-3 is a thick (up to 300m) sequence of massive sulphides divided into two deposits, the zinc-rich North Deposit and the copper-rich South Deposit. The size of the deposits and the higher grade zoning allow various mining alternatives to be evaluated, ranging from a high tonnage low cost open pit operation to a more selective high grade operation. TG-3 remains open and exploration will focus in the current phase of drilling on the expansion of the high-grade zones.

The resource models for the TG-3 deposit were developed for Manhattan by MRDI Canada, a division of AGRA Simons Limited, based on a diamond drilling program completed between May and September 1999. The results of this drilling have been reported in earlier releases.

Manhattan intends to complete a pre-feasibility study on TG-1 and TG-3 by the middle of 2000, followed by a feasibility study and production decision in early 2001.
