C-3D Digital's Internet Division 3D.COM Inks Exclusive Deal With Cult3D
C3D Technology Combines with Cult3D to Drive 3D e-Commerce Revolution
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1999--Chequemate International Inc. (AMEX:DDD - news), doing business as C-3D Digital Inc., the world's first 3D television network and 3D Internet media company, announced today the signing of an exclusive agreement between C3-D's Internet subsidiary 3D.COM, Inc. and Cycore, Inc., a leader in real-time 3D technologies that creates a revolutionary e-commerce solution for the Web.

The deal with 3D.COM combines the Strata 3D technology, which has an installed base of over 100,000, with Cult3D. This combination creates a revolutionary 3D e-commerce development solution. The deal also designates 3D.COM as a primary portal for access to the Cult3D plug-in.

The Cycore technology Cult3D is already in use at the websites of Nokia, CNN, Lego, Mercedes and many more, and allows the viewer to experience 3D objects interactively. The customers are able to rotate, move and zoom-in on products in real-time. In addition, customers can actually push buttons, turn dials, and literally interact with products as if they were holding them in their hands.

''This is a major step in our Virtual Reality Portal(TM) strategy,'' stated Ken Bringhurst, president of C-3D's 3D.COM division. ''We are combining one of the industries most popular 3D development tools Strata 3D with the leader in 3D e-commerce Cult3D, and we are doing it in a way that will revolutionize the industry.''

Bringhurst continued, ''The importance of the deal is two-fold. First, the software technology combination will create licensing revenues for both companies. Second, Web traffic will be generated by the plug-in downloads. Customers at sites, such as Nokia.com, will need to come to the download center and register before getting the plug-in.''

''We couldn't think of a better partner to help us extend our leadership in 3D for the Internet,'' stated Bengt Starke, chief executive officer of Cycore. ''The Strata software tool set has an installed base of professionals that is one of the largest in the industry. These artists and Web developers will now have access to an important new technology for their clients. It's a clear win-win situation for everyone.''

C-3D Digital's Chairman and CEO J. Michael Heil added, ''As a technology-driven media company, this deal is a perfect fit. Our strategy for generating 'eyeballs' is similar to Macromedia's with their Shockwave product. The deal is also a significant boost to our leadership in 3D technology.''

Further details of the agreement will be released in an upcoming joint press conference. The companies plan to announce marketing and product strategies that are firsts in the industry. These important new strategies will further revolutionize the market for 3D and e-commerce on the Internet.
