Alas this is technical speak, well maybe not. But the most important reason for corl to have their own release of Linux is that they need that kind of control to assure that their way of doing an office suite actually runs. The technical frame upon which it rests may have many compatibility problems with other Linux distributions. This is the way of the layers of the onion.
