Don't give yourself over to the evils of a graphical browser. Resist!
I use mostly console apps (lynx, mutt, slrn, vim, etc) because I like to do "couch computing". I've got a big 33" monitor, but it only does 800x600 and at 10+ feet away (RF keyboard) you don't really have room for little buttons and scrollbars and crap. Plus, the mouse is difficult to use while prone. Full-screen text on a black screen can be easily seen from almost any distance.
However, if you must cut-n-paste from within lynx, it should be easy. Just make sure you have the "gpm" program installed and running. Highlight with the mouse the text you want to cut. Then, push the middle mouse button to paste it into the search field. Note that you must have the focus within the search field in lynx for this to work. You do not need to have the text-to-copy visible on screen when pasting. Gpm will remember the last text you highlighted.
