Gerald,

Sacramento, California, Dec. 14 (Bloomberg) - The California
Public Employees' Retirement System is targeting Advanced Micro
Devices Inc., J.C. Penney Co., First Union Corp., Rite Aid Corp.
and 11 others in its annual drive to push companies in its
portfolio to boost their lagging stock price.

Maybe Calpers ought to target whomever picks stocks for them to do a better job. What do they expect a
company like AMD to do, buy back stock? That might interrupt the money flow over to Dresden, set back
copper, which, come to think of it, might actually temporarily slow down losses for AMD. Calpers might be
smarter than I thought.
