What technology sharing are you talking about? If you're talking about WDC and Adaptec sharing information on how to make Ultra-SCSI chipsets, that doesn't help WD since WD sold the chip-making portion of the business to Adaptec in February. If you're talking about WD planing to ship Ultra-SCSI on their disk drives, I haven't heard of any announcements to that effect. The commonly held belief is that the reason the WDC price is up is because WD is getting into the high-performance high-capacity market where the profit margins are better.
