At 1 trillion dollars, microsoft could never be purchased by another company on earth. So an investor can never hope to be bought out. KIS, you've got some very basic questions about investing in stocks, which you should probably answer to your own satisfaction before you buy any shares of stock. MSFT will be worth $1T relatively soon at this pace of technological and economical growth, unless they are divided (which should be a great relief to you, since the next biggest, GE, does pay a dividend in your eyes that changes everything).
