However, I believe when you ask people after long time, one has to be very careful not to imply any answer in the question. Not only at court, but also during interview. So one should first inquire whether anything specific could be heard, then ask for foreign words or an accent, and only as last resort try to ask directly for German.
Therefore, the inquiry would best be made by a police officer who can take down a protocol directly afterwards. Otherwise we might spoil the faint evidence that might exist.

Based on ear witness it will be impossible by the way to make sure Suzanne did NOT take part in the Edgehill argument, the only possibility we have would be a corroboration of her taking part.
