This paragraph from the old UK website is omitted from the new company profile:

The company was the brain child of two entrepreneurial English brothers - Keith and Graham Halsey - the latter a celebrated under 23 international Rugby player with the Harlequins, who started the company from Keith's small beach house in Los Angeles, and Graham's house in London.

Maybe the Halsey brothers have moved on. American Xtal acquired Lyte Optronics in May; this is one of two divisions.

The other is the Alpha Division {LED's and laser diodes}. Their website is an example of the minimalist approach:
