Labrador: additional response to your question
The G* phone will function just like any other terrestrial cell phone regardless of whether you are indoors away from windows or outdoors surrounded by trees. The questioning of G* phones working while indoors away from windows only applies to using the phone in Satellite mode. Many users have reported that the phones work very well inside buildings, but G* is not advertising this capability due to the many variables involved to have this work consistently. A G* phone user in sat mode must have line of site with at least one satellite to make a call, duh. One of G*'s strengths is its use of path diversity which means the G* phone will ideally be talking to three birds at any given time. If the line of site between one bird and the phone becomes obstructed, there will still be two birds talking to the phone. Iridium does not have this capability. Hope this helps.
