Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ - news) today announced it has expanded capabilities of
the Compaq NonStop(TM) Payments Factory to provide the industry's most scalable wholesale
payments e-payment solution. The Compaq NonStop(TM) Payments Factory was introduced as a
Windows NT® Server-based intra-day liquidity management solution that reflects the activity
enterprise-wide across the wholesale bank. This solution not only provides intra-day liquidity functions
but also integrates legacy wholesale banking-related applications with data and processing functions
making high- value payments processing more efficient and cost-effective. Compaq now offers these
solutions on the Compaq NonStop(TM) Himalaya servers and a version that runs on the Compaq Tru64
UNIX® platform will be available early next year. In addition to a choice of platforms, Compaq provides
the applications, services, and the support needed for a robust wholesale e-payment solution-key
elements for mission-critical banking.

Compaq ProLiant NT servers running on Windows NT Server, as well as the highest available and

high performance, Compaq will offer the solution on Compaq AlphaServer systems running the Tru64
UNIX operating system. The solution provides seamless integration of the applications on combinations
of these platforms, as well as the consistent and accessible data required for risk monitoring in
commercial banks, central banks and multibank agencies. Compaq Services provides a complete set of
professional services for the Compaq NonStop(TM) Payments Factory solution including consulting,
customization, integration, and installation of the hardware and software that ensures conformance with
domestic payment systems such as FedWire and international funds transfer systems such as SWIFT.

Availability
The Compaq NonStop(TM) Payments Factory solution on Compaq ProLiant and NonStop(TM) Himalaya
servers is available immediately worldwide. The Tru64 UNIX system version will be available worldwide in
