I've been quietly watching this topic waiting for someone to comment on the lack of phone response from schwab customer service recently. I've given up after hold times of 42, 12, 14, 20 minutes (off hours) and 15, 12, 6 (disconnected by their phone system) curing the trading day; i finally put them on speaker phone and went off to do other things on my last call and it was picked up after 28 minutes. For this type of service, we pay higher commissions? Any observations that get an ordinary e-schwab user better support would be greatly appreciated. They did answer my e-mail complaining with the standard stock footage of "overwhelming interest in opening an account and we are staffing up as quickly as we can, adding new lines and more people....." -- hey charlie, get out of your office and go down to customer support and man the phones.......
