Great article about IDTI foray into processor chips. Outlines the two problems IDTI will have. "But grabbing the gold could be very difficult. One obstacle: a lawsuit. Unless IDT holds rights to the relevant patents -- or is indisputably on an independent design path -- it is likely to face expensive legal action by Intel. Another: convincing a PC maker to take a chance on a new player." Hope they have good lawyers. But haven't Advanced Micro Devices and Cyrix already been through this with Intel? I think that will help being legal precedences. As for finding a PC maker, if the chips are as cheap and work as well as suggested by those in the article, I wouldn't think that would be too much of a problem. Somehow, buying items cheaply always appeals to someone. Mat
