My little Webster's defines "harken" as "to hearken." I find that somehow disenhearkening. I mean, we don't sing "Heark, the herald angels sing," do we? Perhaps it's an irregular verb - "I hark, you heark, he, she or it hearkens."

On the bright side, I've gone more than 40 years without knowing it, so I've accomplished something (by doing nothing, as is my wont).
