Henry,

You made a good point.

In this tight labor market, I have seen businesses acquiring other businesses just to find qualified individuals faster.

Yahoo! did this twice.

On the other hand, you would be surprised to know how many good people left NetManage to succeed on their own.
Some left to Amazon, AOL, Cisco, Yahoo!, and a long list of start-up companies.
You could consider this outflow of people as a bad omen, but it is not. It's just the way things are in Silicon Valley.

Change is good. New blood is good.

How did I come up with 2 billion in assets?

Tangible assets, and hidden assets lead me to this estimate.

NetManage's old connectivity market is not dying as fast as some would like to think.
Please review reports published by IDC, Prudential, and Forrester. I estimate NetManage will own 35% of this market due to its recent acquisitions. 35% of this market represents roughly $4B annually.
I discounted many possible hurdles to produce a conservative estimate.

When NetManage release its next financial report, I expect continued profitability and revenue growth. After that, I expect significant earnings growth and accelerated revenue growth.

NetManage's connectivity market share will be the fuel of its new focus. I consider NetManage as a fledging business that happens to have a solid revenue stream to be able to develop new business segments.

Sincerely,

Warren@HeartStreet.com
