The Nus Desk post paul quoted was about the K6-2 introduction on 5/28/98 (originally called the K6-3D), not the K6-3. And in fact the K6-2 ramp (and AMD's stock price) was impressive until January '99 when the k6-2 ran out of MHz and the k6-3 failed to launch.
