FreekBro, I don't mean they actually have flat batteries, or loose nuts, I just mean they have thousands of components and you don't get to accelerate a mass of complexity into a harsh environment like space without getting a certain number of failures. That's why they have heaps of redundancy for the various systems. When they get some component go wrong, they can generally keep operating because some other components don't fail. Apparently there actually was one satellite with wiring assembled with the wrong polarity and it was a puzzle when they tried to orient it correctly. Once figured out that it was reversed, it was okay, just like driving on the other side of the road.

We are told that all are operating. Well, maybe they are, but they sure won't all be operating with zero defects. That's what the redundancy in components and spare satellites in orbit are for. Backups for failure.

We're lucky they all seem to be nominally operative other than the busted dozen.

Good going!
