This is so very very true. Painting a picture of Christ was probably because the artist was devout in his faith or he was commissioned by a Christian to do so. Since there is no physical description of Christ no one knows his real appearance but since He was a Jew certain characteristics must have been evident or there would have been some mention of His looking different from the others. In those days almost all Jews were Hebrews which is not like today when so many of the Jewish people have the appearance of one of the many nations they were dispersed to, probably because of intermarriages. Unlike what mark said in one of his posts, not all Hebrews, or typical Jews had hooked noses.
