IPIX and bamboo.com Joint Proxy Declared Effective

- Record Date and Stockholder Meeting Set -

OAK RIDGE, Tenn., and PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Interactive Pictures (Nasdaq: IPIX - news), a world leader in immersive imaging for the Internet, and bamboo.com (Nasdaq: BAMB - news), a leading Internet imaging service and content provider, announced today that the companies' Joint Proxy Statement/Prospectus relating to the previously announced merger of the two companies has been declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission and filed electronically.

Proxy materials will be mailed to stockholders on or about December 20, 1999. The companies also set their respective stockholder record and special stockholder meeting dates.

IPIX stockholders of record on December 6, 1999 will be eligible to vote at the special meeting. The IPIX stockholder meeting will be held on January 19, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. (PST) in San Jose, California. bamboo.com stockholders of record on December 6, 1999 will be eligible to vote at the special meeting. The bamboo.com stockholder meeting will be held on January 19, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. (PST) in Palo Alto, California.
