J2/National Lampoon to Be Featured on CNBC

CEO Discusses Success of Nationallampoon.com, Advertising Progress and

Potential for Brand Expansion into other Entertainment Outlets

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- J2/National Lampoon (Nasdaq: JTWO) announced today that the company will be featured during CNBC's Business Center on Friday, December 17. The feature will air between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm PST. James P. Jimirro, chairman and CEO, participated in a taped interview by CNBC this week regarding his thoughts on the company's advertising and e-commerce strategy, the success of Nationallampoon.com and the potential for expanding the comedy brand into other entertainment outlets.

During the interview, Mr. Jimirro said that he was "very pleased with the progress the company has made on its advertising strategy. The click-through rate on our ads is impressive -- more than five times the national average. Nationallampoon.com's unique, episodic programs also allow our advertisers to go beyond traditional banner ads by offering opportunities for sponsorships, product placements, and interstitials."

Nationallampoon.com, which launched at the end of October, already has nine different advertisers including CDNow, ProFlowers and Uproar.com. The Company said it is negotiating several additional advertising contracts as well. J2 National Lampoon also generates revenue from its online e-commerce store, Smash 'n' Grab. Jimirro said he was building creative online promotions to drive more traffic to the site's store, and to encourage people to buy more once they are there. The store sells Nationallampoon.com products.

Mr. Jimirro was asked by the CNBC reporter to comment on Nationallampoon.com's potential for expansion into other entertainment outlets. "We see tremendous opportunities to leverage our online success into television and feature films," said Jimirro. "Some of our big hits, like Fantasy Losers' League, are already garnering consumer, media and entertainment industry attention. The National Lampoon brand remains strong while true to its uproarious 'Animal House' heritage."

Based in Los Angeles, CA, J2 Communications, which owns National Lampoon, is an Internet-based entertainment company. The Company has created an interactive comedy network on its website, nationallampoon.com. The site contains hilarious new characters, stories and features as well as entertainment classics from the national Lampoon archives. The Company sells related merchandise and advertising space on the site to supplement its current revenue base from licensing agreements.
