I think INPR is reacting to it being Option Friday more than an ORCL reaction.

I'm not sure I completely understand the way INPR gets paid for each of their products bundled into ORCL products. I would have to think a license for 8i would include a fee paid to INPR for their ORB. I doubt ORCL would squeeze INPR to drop their ORB price because ORCL is cutting prices. Many of these big players (CA) charge on a MIPS basis. The more MIPS your cpu working at, the more your license would cost. I follow IFMX, IFMX is back from the dead and is giving ORCL a run for their money. They are heavily pushing into the data warehousing business and their pricing for e-commerce database products are already well below ORCL. ORCL is viewed as an 800lb Gorilla that is too big to meet the quickly changing needs of mid-smaller enterprises. ORCL is trying to change that. The only reason Larry is knocking his prices by 40-50% is due to strong competition from more agile competitors. SYBS is also moving quickly into the e-arena. All these smaller companies are looking to eat ORCL's lunch through competitive pricing. ORCL is reacting.
