Implicit in your statement above is that you acknowledge that Cisco figures out what doesn't work and doesn't do it anymore. It's a subtle point, but this is why Cisco is such a success. They are masters at trying out new things, discarding the failures and moving on to the successes. Cisco's nimbleness is what will make them a fierce competitor to Nortel and Lucent going forward. You are correct that the telecom market will be a bitch to crack, but you underestimate Cisco's ability to figure out what it will take to get into this market. Let's just watch and wait. My advice to you, though is at least me smart enough not to short Cisco.
