Thread,

I have copied the "update" info below from PEL's website.

I interpret the "boldface type" (my editing) as PEL's rather subtle announcement that M-25 is in fact a successful stepout well since no one schedules the immediate completion and testing operations of dry holes. <gg>

Well done guys. The future looks pretty bright for PEL !!!

FORT LIARD M-25 DRILLING UPDATE
DECEMBER 16, 1999

Intermediate casing was set on the well on December 5, 1999 to the top of the Nahanni zone at a drilled depth of approximately 3440 metres. Significant indications of fractured reservoir were present at the top of the zone. Drilling operations continued on December 6th and core was cut. Purcell is encouraged by coring results. Drilling continued through the zone on December 11th approaching a depth today of 3700 metres. Total depth is expected to be reached in the next two days with logging operations planned for this weekend. The well will be completed and production tested in early January, 2000.
