TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 1999--Med-Emerg International
Inc., (NASDAQ: MDER-MDERW), is pleased to announce that it has
successfully completed the acquisition of 95% of YFMC Healthcare Inc.,
a leading owner operator of healthcare clinics throughout Canada.
Med-Emerg announced that it intends to acquire the remaining YFMC
Common Shares (approximately 5%) pursuant to the compulsory
acquisition provisions of the Ontario Business Corporations Act.
Med-Emerg International Inc. through its clinic and physician
network is the leading publicly traded Canadian physician services
organization. In addition, through its subsidiary HealthyConnect.com,
it is committed to establishing a pre-eminent role in the Internet
eHealth industry. HealthyConnect.com provides connectivity to
physicians, patients, and providers with proprietary web browser
applications.
HealthyConnect.com intends to launch its proprietary browser
applications, the Professional Health Monitor and Clinic@Home during
the first quarter of 2000. These products will enable the Med-Emerg
network of physicians and 750,000 patients with around the clock

product purchasing capabilities.
