I can see why small banks are in trouble. My brokers keep sending me info how I can even deposit my pay check directly in to their account. A lot of small investors must be moving their savings and checking operations to discount brokerage outfits (it was not allowed before the recent law changes.) Net result could be that they don't have enough reserves to back their loan portfolios. If those loans are of bad quality, they will be in even bigger trouble. IMHO. BTW, with my rhetorical question on banks, I successfully nailed the bottom in CMB. -g-
