<New crime scene info>
<<I directly asked if she thought Suzanne were stabbed where she lay or if she thought she were pushed/pulled out of car. She said she very much believes she was not murdered at that spot, that she was pushed/pulled from a car. She also said the area was too well lighted, too many people out that night, etc. for something like that to happen totally unnoticed.>>
Good; but don't you think your question might have been too suggestive? It has been and is puzzling to me that several witnesses reported similarly to, " the area was too well lighted, too many people out that night, etc. ," yet, no one saw Suzanne either walking across the street while severely wounded, nor being dumped/pushed from a vehicle.
<I then asked if she noticed whether Suzanne were wearing a backpack. She said she was not. I asked if she noticed any other potential personal effects lying nearby and, again, she said she had not.>
Given what we now know from your conversation with Peter, it appears clear that the paper she was carrying 45 mins. earlier was left somewhere, or taken from her.
< I next asked whether she saw any blood at the scene. She said she did not see any blood but that being night time she can't say for sure there wasn't any. However, she also said when she looked at Suzanne she looked like she had merely fainted-- not that she was savagely murdered.....She said the next day the police removed a small patch of grass which would have been underneath her. They also hosed down the street but none of her friends ever mentioned seeing any blood in the street ever. My guess here is maybe there were a drop or two.>
Why such a guess? If they "hosed down the street," IMO, that is suggestive of more than a drop or two. It is also suggestive of Suzanne possibly being on foot, badly injured; or, possibly escaping or being removed from a vehicle, still alive.
<I asked about whether she presumed Suzanne were dead when she saw her. She said there were police cars and an ambulance but that no one was working on her (i.e. no mouth to mouth) nor paramedics running around. She said it must have been quite some time before they loaded her into the ambulance; there was no urgency to whisk her away to the hospital. Hence, it was obvious she were dead at the scene.>
= By the time the police arrived.
<I asked if she knew anything about the scream that someone reported hearing at 9:45pm. She said she was shocked that later on her daughter told her she had also heard a scream at about the same time. When she asked her daughter why she hadn't told her about that earlier the daughter replied "I hear screams outside all the time." The implication here is that there was nothing about this scream that made her think it out of the ordinary.>
Someone else made a comment to me regarding this, about which I agree, that it is likely she and/or her daughter are now embarrassed/ashamed they didn't inquire or assist when they heard the scream; and, therefore, have passed it off as they did. If you think for a moment, all of us have been in a similar situation of not checking; and would undoubtly feel terrible if there had been such a heinous occurrence, with a life possibly saved. From the description of the neighborhood, unless the source is children playing, it would surprise me if screams are heard "outside all the time."
Thanks for all the good info, Jeff. |
