I've been long EMC since January, and just went long NTAP this week. I don't know why holders of NTAP have to think this is Red Sox vs. the Yankees.

I'd be interested in any info you have in why EMC is bloated with anything other than cash flow and earnings. EPS was up 53% last they reported, with improving margins. You're right, EMC isn't into cache, but NTAP doesn't market in EMC's high end. EMC is "competing" using the word loosely, as I should say "continuing to take away market share") with HP and IBM here, not NTAP. So, they are in two different markets of the same sector.

They can both do equally well, at no expense to the other. They can also overlap, and do well, as the market for what they sell is increasing. I'm sorry that I had limited myself to one of these winners.
