Dearest George,
Well, of course it will take some time to arrange for a a proper wake, and it's doubtful that we can have the requiem service before the New Year, as none of us could possibly be ready-nor would we want to be for such an important occasion. It will call for the best of our procrastinatory (Yes, I made that up) abilities.
At some point I will think about what to sing, because I just know you are going to ask me to, when you get around to it.

ANd congratulations on your walking!!!! I am impressed beyond words.
ANd maybe later, I'll feel guilty, but not right now.
