Wright,

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. My take on things is that e-commerce is going to be alot about winner take all. WRT MRO migrating to the internet,, suppliers and customers aren't going to want to have to maintain several different interfaces depending on who they buy from. I see a large incentive for a marketplace to centralize around common standards. There's big first mover advantage, and DSTM has a good position in MRO. As MRO competes with general e-commerce commerce DSTM will definitely run into big big money. They'll need to partner/merge/whatever. They're in a nice position right now though and can come to the table with strength. Plus, they're not expensive for an acquirer.

I haven't been reading Yahoo. Is anybody with credibility over there talking about buyout, or is just hype? If I'm Datastream I'm probably looking at all the money being thrown at e-commerce and realize what I'm up against from a financing standpoint. Deep pockets would better help them pursue the market going forward.

Merry Christmas, Shane
