I'll take your scenario over a poke in the eye. I know Lucent isn't dependent on wireless like Nokia is - but their strength seems very much tied to their core US client base. Wouldn't Ericsson be on safer ground here with a much better international spread? The AT&T debacle was bad enough, but Latin American TDMA sales probably mean more. And the current network expansion deals in Asia and Europe seem bigger than in the Americas. I can't help thinking it's a little late to start seeking an international wireless focus at this stage.

I've heard about Lucent's packet expertise... I've read about the supreme quality of their GPRS version. What I don't see is any sales action. Do you have any insights here?
