The faster the computer, the faster the Internet connection will be. My Dell has a very fast video card and graphics fly. I tried cruising the Internet a couple weeks ago with my 56K modem and I was surprised how fast it was. My main Internet connection is cable.

Now if you cruise on a notebook, you will not experience the same speeds as a very powerful desktop.

But then again, it could be your modem.
