Well, I think it might work if you told them that your religion required that you get your own bones back.. Tell them that in your religion, it's important not to let any hair or bones falls into the hands of others because that's how this let the evil spirits loose on you... There are several cultures that I know of that subscribe to that belief... I mean... religion is always a good ploy. Some convenience store owner up here managed to use his "religion" as an excuse for not letting a blind man bring his seeing eye dog into the store even though it's against the law to prohibit a seeing eye dog from entering any establishment in this city... Yep.. I think the religious approach might be the best bet if you want to get your way... ...and if THAT doesn't work.... yep... tell them that there's a very nasty Crocodile that they don't want to mess with if they know what's good for them... ;-}>
