Hey NOTHING ...

You are wrong as usual. ( Is it some kind of surprise? )

RE>> no one could possibly have any idea what or who the Holy Ghost was. It didn't show up until Pentecost<<

Jesus was spoken of as being of the Holy Ghost within the womb before Being Born and long before Pentecoste.

Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Ghost is just another term for Spirit. The Bible uses the word Ghost and Spirit interchangeably.
They are two different words that describe the exact same thing.

Your statement would be like saying to someone that used the term "boy" and suddenly heard the term "young man" that no sense could be made of it... That is silly!

Young man could easily mean an adult but it is often understood in many contexts as yet a boy.

Ghost is that kind of term... when someone says " do you believe in "ghosts" they mean something like Casper.

When someone however says "He gave up the Ghost" it is understood as the "Spirit"

People also use the word "spirits" to mean things other than God's Spirit. Or the soul of man.

Too many spirits you'll see double :-}

Ghost appears even in the oldest book of the bible JOB

Job 3:11 Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?

In that verse Job wishes he were never born or rather died at birth than to have lived to see the sorrow that he was suffering at the Hand of God through Satan. ( He later repented of saying that ) Ghost means "Spirit or Soul"

Job 11:20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.

Giving up the Ghost refers to losing life ( Soul or Spirit )

Of the Death of Jesus Christ:

Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Also of Stephen:

Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

Same words Jesus said to the Father.

David recorded as saying this in the O.T.

Psalms 51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Holy Spirit is the same thing as Holy Ghost. Holy spirit is all over the Old Testament.

Here Jesus Himself calls the Holy Ghost the Holy Spirit:

Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

You are making much about nothing.... NOTHING :-}
