Jim, loved your description of the talking heads. :-)

You're dead right about CNBC. Have one down day, and they'll bring on the doom&gloomers telling you about how the whole thing's going down the drain. Then, the next day, they're forgotten.

Have to disagree with you about the gap, though. First, I don't believe in gaps. Who says they have to be filled? Second, there is no gap in JDSU. Just because it gapped up one day doesn't create a gap in the price action. The stock traded in that range three times in the prior three weeks.
