Depending on the time of day, the lines at Costco can be long, but I try to shop early, and avoid the lines. You don't have to buy cases of stuff, but a lot of the stuff is in big, big containers, like a gallon of olive oil, a dozen bagels, a ten pound sack of potatoes, which may be just as bad for you. The prices are very low. Selection isn't their strong point, you have to want what they have, take it or leave it.
The Costco here has a pharmacy, a photo-finishing plant on-site, an optometrist, you can buy tires, and they will install them, but they don't service cars. You can buy jewelry, clothing, linens, office supplies, computers and electronic equipment, kitchen appliances, other home appliances like coffee makers, washing machines, irons, etc. They sell automotive stuff like wiper blades and mats for cars. You can buy sporting equipment, like bicycles and basketball goals. Cleaning stuff, in large sizes. Batteries, light bulbs, flashlights. Cameras. Prepared food, canned food, frozen food, again large sizes, say if you want tuna, you have to buy ten cans, wrapped together with plastic wrap. Cereal comes in a three pound box. Seasonal items, like garden furniture in the spring, hammocks and lawn mowers in the summer, snow shovels in the winter. Books and CDs, 40% off, the selection isn't great, usually best sellers.
Big bottles of aspirin, Advil, a three-pack of deodorant, half gallon jugs of shampoo, 25 pound bags of dog food.
I could go on and on, but I am afraid my connection will timeout. Vuarnet and Ray-Ban sunglasses. Coach hand bags. Motor oil does come by the case.
Do it. They'll let you try it once, for free. |
