Since 12/15 at about 6 p.m. I haven't been able to connect to my ISP's news server. They occasionally have news server problems and usually fix it in a day or two. But as of last night I still couldn't connect so I called. According to the tech who answered the phone they found some y2k non-compliant hardware, pulled it and are waiting for a replacement. He had no idea when it might arrive..."By Christmas?...New Years?...2001?"...I ask. "No idea," he says. I start laughing...howling. He sounds tired and says "You're the first person to call about this and start laughing." I told him, "I read c.s.y2k on a regular basis. Ironic, no?"
