Yes, someone emailed it to me and I posted it to Cobe last night.
This is from the earlier piece, the one on Wired News:
"Made good" is an understatement. Mahir's two-week US calendar is filled with publicity engagements other celebrities could only dream of.
Mahir is scheduled to appear on the Roseanne show, and has interviews set with the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Boston Globe, Wired Magazine, Forbes, and others.

There really is something very sweet about people's reaction to him. I mean, it's not a simple matter of "making fun of" him. People feel a sort of love for him, mostly, I think. Or at least a sort of warm feeling in their hearts. He revealed so much.
I know someone who referred to him, when I sent her husband (who is the one whom I know better) the Mahir link, as "that lame-assed Turkish guy." I've felt, since then, that I can't quite respect her. Like, "God, doesn't she understand anything?" |
