There really is something very sweet about people's reaction to him. I mean, it's not a simple matter of "making fun of" him. People feel a sort of love for him, mostly, I think. Or at least a sort of warm feeling in their hearts. He revealed so much.
I know someone who referred to him, when I sent her husband (who is the one whom I know better) the Mahir link, as "that lame-assed Turkish guy." I've felt, since then, that I can't quite respect her. Like, "God, doesn't she understand anything?"
