One of the things that bothers me is the continual refusal to distinguish moderate swats from beating. One day, when we hug and kiss our kids, we will be accused of sexual abuse. In fact, that is how these studies are carried out. If we lumped in real sexual abuse with physical displays of affection, we would have people claiming that touching our children puts them at risk for neuroses, and Christine asking why we think that children are our property, whom we can embrace at will.......
