John,

Also there was talk on CNBC Friday that there will be
heavy selling in first week of Jan. when all the internuts
holders will take profits and don't have to pay taxes on
the profits for one year.

OTOH, there are billions of $$$ in 401K, 403B, IRAs, etc. that kick in on 1/2/00. Santa Claus rally... The best guess I've heard yet was a pullback at year end for Y2K, justified or not, but all other systems go. Buying opportunity on 1/2/00 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., maybe.

Oh, Fed might express tightening bias on Tuesday because of the high holiday spending.

Microsoft is now being recommended as in Internet infrastructure stock by a lot of the chief investment officer types that frequent NBR, CNBC, WSW. Other names heard most often, EMC, Intel, Sun, IBM, HP and AMAT.
