Ellen, Fred, Nitlyn, Connie and others. I really didn't want this to turn into a "I'm gonna take my ball and go home" petulance scene where it appears I'm seeking attention, though I appreciate the kind remarks.

It doesn't really matter where I post. The important thing here is to determine if the fragile nature of this once superb thread can be maintained. I kinda doubt that it can.

I'm getting more pm's and email on this than I ever have gotten before and people are extremely disgusted with the direction of the thread.

My guess is this is the most bookmarked and "lurked" thread on SI. P and D'ers know that. What have they got to lose?....they need an audience, this is a perfect forum for thir hit and run tactics.

If the regulars don't slap them down every time they post...who will....NOBODY will.

The problem is the line between legitimate thought out momentum daytrades and pump and dumps is becoming increasingly blurred and crossed....even by thread regulars.

I doubt that any of us can completely agree on whose pumping and who is legitimately mentioning a day trade possibility.

So what's the solution? It either stays a free for all with distinct neighborhoods (LA and Paris remarks) operating within one thread where we ignore those picks and posters we disdain...OR guidelines are posted and enforced.

It's one of the two. It's up to Kimberly to make that final decision.

If this thread is lucky enough to regain it's former standards, constant vigilance will be the price we pay to maintain the quality.

But this really seems moot anyway doesn't it? The people that are here addressing the issues aren't the root of the problem.

It's generally the weekday 9 to 4'ers that swoop in to make their play and then retreat that cause the problems. They won't even read this stuff 'cause they don't bother with FA or TA...or diligence, things that might entail weekend or weeknight work.

Anyway, we'll see what transpires but I'm skeptical of the outcome.

Best to all.

Stan
